Jrny. Licensed Electrician (Dept 270)

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints, schematic, and wiring drawings.
• Comprehend verbal and written instructions.
• Install and maintain all types of wiring, machinery installs, building projects, and lighting systems.
• Inspect electrical components, such as bus bars, transformers, circuit breakers, electrical panels, and circuit boards.
• Identify electrical problems using a variety of testing equipment.
• Repair or replace wiring, equipment, or fixtures using hand and power tools.
• Follow state and local building regulations based on the National Electric Code and Arc Flash requirements.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety throughout the department.
• Use all types of electrician tools needed to perform assigned tasks.
• Train other maintenance personnel to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring or equipment.
• Work in the Foundry and on split shifts as needed.
• Sign off on other maintenance personnel’s electrical work.
• Troubleshoot machine controls and PLCs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• One-year certificate from college or technical school; or 2 to 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Wisconsin State Electrical license.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, blueprints, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to deal effectively with routine problems and situations.

Physical Demands

• Stand or walk 100% of the shift.
• Frequent bending and lifting 30-40 lbs. unassisted.
• Occasional lifting of 70 lbs., assisted or unassisted.

Work Environment

• Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
• Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
• Noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
