Jr. Security Engineer (Full Time) - Sugar Land

About the Role

Manage and maintain standard security tools and platforms, including next-generation firewalls, web application firewalls, endpoint security and encryption, vulnerability scanners, email filtering solutions, and data loss prevention to ensure optimal security for the organization. Collaborate with Network teams to address network-related issues and implement security measures. Provide onsite, full-time attendance for hands-on troubleshooting, technical support, and helpdesk activities.

Responsibilities

• Understand networking concepts and collaborate with Network teams to resolve network-related issues and implement security measures.
• Identify, investigate, and resolve security issues using strong analytic, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Manage multiple concurrent projects within compliance and regulatory program requirements.
• Provide technical support and explain technical concepts to non-technical individuals.
• Work independently with minimum supervision and handle highly confidential information with sensitivity to accuracy, timeliness, and professionalism.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
• Security + and Network + certifications required.
• Foundational knowledge of Cyber Security concepts and topics.

Skills

• Strong abstract reasoning abilities.
• Exceptional written communication skills.
• Proven project management and organizational skills.
• Foundational knowledge in Systems Administration / Engineering with Windows and/or Linux.
• Excellent customer service skills and ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical individuals.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
