Jr. Project Accountant
Nooter/Eriksen Inc., an employee-owned OEM specializing in HRSG (Heat Recovery Steam Generator) design, construction, and supply for the global power industry, is seeking a Jr. Project Accountant to join our Finance Team.
About the role
This role supports Project Financial Analysts in managing day-to-day project financial activities, including Contract Management, Accounts Payable, customer invoice processing, financial reporting, reconciliations, and other project accounting functions. It offers an opportunity to develop a strong foundation in project accounting while collaborating with Project Financial Analysts, Project Managers, Procurement, and other departments. The successful candidate will grow into an Accountant role, taking on increased responsibility for project financial reporting, analysis, reconciliations, and other accounting functions as their experience develops.
This role directly impacts the efficiency and reliability of modern power generation systems, positioning you at the forefront of optimizing combined cycle plant performance and shaping the future of energy technology.
Responsibilities
- Develop an understanding of project financial processes, reporting requirements, internal controls, and accounting functions through cross-training and participation in project finance activities.
- Support Project Financial Analysts by assisting with accounts payable processing, customer invoicing, project financial reporting, analysis, and related finance and accounting activities.
- Perform account reconciliations and support month-end close activities, including journal entries and account analysis.
- Assist with payment processing activities, including checks, ACH, and wire transfers, in accordance with established procedures and internal controls.
- Participate in initiatives that support improvements in financial reporting, accounting processes, and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- 1+ years of accounting, finance, or related business experience.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, problem-solving, quick decision-making, data interpretation, and analysis; strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in business or finance; experience will be considered in lieu of education.
