OTHR$130k–$150k/yrFull-time

About the role

We're a small company of 13 people looking for a Jr. Processor / Customer Service / Office Admin to join our team. This person will become the 7th member of our processing department and 14th employee overall. The role is full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

We work with homeowners who are behind on their mortgage payments and facing foreclosure. We communicate directly with their mortgage companies to help them explore options such as:

  • Loan Modifications
  • Forbearance Plans
  • Bankruptcy Referrals
  • Reinstatement Plans
  • Stopping Foreclosure Sales
  • Other foreclosure-prevention solutions

Clients hire us because they need someone knowledgeable in their corner.

Responsibilities

Your day will mostly consist of:

  • Calling new clients and welcoming them
  • Providing status updates to existing clients
  • Collecting and organizing documents
  • Working directly with homeowners and mortgage lenders
  • Keeping detailed notes in our software
  • General office and administrative duties

Additional tasks may include:

  • Printing envelopes for our marketing department
  • Making Post Office runs
  • Organizing deliveries of paper and envelopes
  • Costco runs
  • Starbucks runs
  • Picking up lunch for the office
  • Running occasional errands
  • Helping clean up after office lunches
  • Being the tie-breaker in office arguments
  • Finding out the latest gossip from neighboring offices

Requirements

We prioritize personality, common sense, work ethic, and reliability over experience. Here are some qualities that will help you succeed:

  • Time Management: You'll eventually handle a large client load, so staying organized and prioritizing work is key.
  • Active Listening: Clients may not always explain their situation clearly. You’ll need to calm them down, answer difficult questions, and sometimes improvise solutions.
  • Attention to Detail: Detailed notes are critical in our business.
  • Computer Skills: There is a lot of typing (30-40 WPM with good accuracy is ideal).
  • Patience: Clients are often stressed, especially those facing foreclosure. Keeping calm is essential.

Reliability is crucial. If you regularly call in sick, ask for days off, or struggle with punctuality, this role may not be a good fit. We understand life happens, but consistent absences (more than 1-2 per month) will make it difficult to succeed here.

Our Culture

We’re a close-knit team of 13 people who work hard, laugh hard, and treat each other like family. Our office environment is relaxed, sarcastic, and sometimes inappropriate—if you thrive in a polished corporate setting with strict HR guidelines, this isn’t the place for you. We argue, joke around, and move on. As long as work gets done and clients are taken care of, we’re pretty laid back.

Our number one priority is our clients. They pay us to help them, and meeting deadlines while ensuring they feel taken care of is what matters most.

Pay

During your 90-day probationary period, pay is approximately $3,000 per month take-home (net), based on $17/hour. After probation, you’ll earn bonuses based on client load and performance, typically adding $500–$1,500 per month (with most processors earning an extra $500–$1,000/month). Additional opportunities for raises and income growth are available as you progress.

  • Annual raises based on performance
  • Christmas bonuses

Benefits

  • 5 paid PTO/vacation days to start
  • Paid major holidays
  • Annual summer picnic
  • Annual Christmas party
  • Relaxed work environment
  • Dual-monitor workstation with high-end peripherals
  • Your own 6' x 8' cubicle

This is a 1099 position, so we don’t provide employer-sponsored health insurance. However, we’ll help you obtain excellent coverage through Covered California, where most of our team has Blue Shield and pays a fraction of the cost due to income-based subsidies.

Application Instructions

If you’re still interested after reading this, we’d like the following from you:

  • Your resume
  • A short video (2–3 minutes) answering these questions:
    • What stood out to you most about this job posting?
    • Why do you think you’d be a great fit for this office (not just the job)?
    • Tell us a little about yourself—hobbies, personality, quirks, or anything else. We want to get to know the real you, not a rehearsed interview answer.

Send your video via iCloud link, Google Photos, YouTube, or attach it directly if your email provider allows it.
