Jr. Estimator

About the role

Hertz Electric, a reputable electrical contracting company serving Northern New Jersey and the New York City area, is seeking a Jr. Estimator to join our dynamic team. Since 2009, we have been delivering exceptional electrical services focused on commercial projects.

Responsibilities

• Prepare preliminary estimates by analyzing blueprints, project plans, and specifications
• Collaborate with project managers to understand the scope, budget, and timelines of each project
• Calculate costs for materials, labor, and time required for each project
• Assist in gathering and analyzing competitive bids from vendors and subcontractors
• Maintain and update estimating databases for continuous improvement
• Work with the team to identify potential cost-saving opportunities
• Regularly communicate with clients, vendors, and subcontractors to clarify project details

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or a related field preferred
• 2 years of experience in construction estimating, preferably within the electrical sector
• Basic knowledge of electrical systems and commercial project requirements
• Proficiency in project management software, such as Procore, and estimating tools (training available)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Exceptional communication skills and attention to detail
• A team player with a commitment to meeting project deadlines
