Jr Digital Designer
We’re seeking a developing digital designer who wants hands-on experience across UI/UX, web production, email marketing, design systems, and emerging digital tools while learning alongside experienced design and development team members. You’ll partner with the Director of Brand Design and Senior Digital Designer to translate brand guidelines into responsive, conversion-focused UI and build on-brand experiences in our CMS and marketing app builders.
Responsibilities
- Design and refine responsive web pages, campaign landing pages, and interactive UI components in Figma, applying enterprise brand standards and WCAG web accessibility best practices.
- Build, update, and publish responsive pages, campaign experiences, and reusable content modules within enterprise CMS and marketing platforms while maintaining brand, web accessibility, and performance standards.
- Assist in building visual assets, alternative layouts, and CTA variants for multivariate and A/B testing initiatives across web landing pages and digital channels to drive user engagement and conversion.
- Build full-lifecycle marketing and transactional email assets, including layout assembly, modular builder configuration, and A/B test variant creation, while conducting pre-deployment rendering QA testing across email clients.
- Translate Figma components, interactive prototypes, and layout specs directly into code-ready assets for Front-End Developers, independently conducting visual QA and CMS testing to guarantee component integrity and platform performance.
- Assist in maintaining enterprise brand style guides, Figma component libraries, and Digital Asset Management (DAM) platforms, ensuring organized asset versioning and publishing in Frontify.
- Effectively balance and manage multiple concurrent project timelines, shifting daily priorities between long-term web initiatives and high-urgency, rapid-turnaround campaign requests.
- Maintain a curious, responsible approach to exploring and integrating emerging AI design and MarTech capabilities to enhance design velocity, asset iteration, and production workflows.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Design or a related field (e.g., Graphic/Visual Design, Interaction/UX Design, HCI), or equivalent experience.
- Portfolio showcasing responsive web, landing page, branding, and email design work.
- 0–2 years of digital/interactive design experience (or completion of an early-careers design internship).
- Demonstrated ability designing from brand guidelines and utilizing established Figma design systems (components, variants, libraries).
- Practical experience assembling pages in a website CMS and utilizing marketing app/ESP editors (e.g., landing page and email builders).
- Experience supporting front-end developers to implement designs, including assisting with specs, basic prototypes, and asset QA.
- Minimum completion of the Summer 2026 Internship at Mercury Insurance.
Skills
- Proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop; basic motion a plus).
- Foundational UI craft: layout, typography, color, interaction patterns, and responsive behavior (including dark mode and email client constraints).
- Understanding of core UX best practices (Information Architecture, user flows) and foundational awareness of web accessibility standards (WCAG).
- Familiarity with email/web testing tools (e.g., rendering QA software) and performance-aware design.
- Good communication, organization, and time management; able to manage multiple timelines under competing priorities.
- Task management using Monday.com: track work progress, manage personal timelines, update project statuses, and keep leadership informed.
- Basic understanding of HTML/CSS and common web/email constraints; able to design within CMS, component, and ESP limitations to support feasibility, performance, and web accessibility.
