Jr. Chemical Lab Technician (Part-time)

Duties & Responsibilities

• Carry out and oversee laboratory tests under engineering supervision.
• Prepare test items before testing, clean up after tests, and set up test apparatus for future use.
• Manage data transfer and process data according to predefined scripts and procedures.
• Aid chemists in material synthesis.
• Clean work area, tools, and equipment and perform other daily maintenance tasks.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a curriculum for lab technician, chemistry, or chemical engineering at a community college or 4-year university.
• Completed 1 year of curriculum including 1 semester of chemistry wet lab experience.
• General familiarity with standard lab safety protocols.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Physical Activity/Requirements

• Stand, walk, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Frequent lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds, occasional lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds.
• Climb stairs/ladders, stand, balance, stoop, squat, reach, and lift/carry objects.
• Twist, sit with back supported, head forward/flexed, head tilted/rotated.
• Work with arms extended below the waist, unsupported, elbows flexed, wrist supported and unsupported.
• Constantly lift 10-20 pounds.
• Standing and walking.
• Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) for hands, body, vision, and hearing protection.

Pay

The base salary range is dependent on experience and qualifications.

Schedule

Flexible hours, but requires being in-person and on a regular schedule.
