About the Role
This is a hands-on position focused on safety, precision, and quality in a tooling manufacturing environment. You’ll play a key role in keeping tooling operations running efficiently and safely by assembling injection and blow molds, operating manual and CNC machines, and using precision measuring tools to ensure components meet exact specifications.
Responsibilities
- Use caution and support facility systems to ensure safety event-free facilities.
- Respond to emergencies or potential emergencies following established procedures.
- Observe, respond, and report any instances of product, service, or quality systems non-conformity.
- Maintain security diligence: control key cards, prevent unauthorized entry, and ensure proper maintenance/security of equipment.
- Complete primary duties and associated training as outlined.
- Pause activity and notify the Safety lead regarding potentially unsafe work environments or practices.
- Initiate action to prevent non-conformities in product, service, or quality systems.
- Initiate, recommend, or provide solutions through designated channels for continual improvement.
- Assemble and check all types and styles of injection or blow molds.
- Operate assigned manual or CNC machines.
- Use precision measuring tools to accurately record dimensions of components.
- Assist superiors in day-to-day activities.
- Maintain cleanliness of the shop.
- Work overtime as needed.
- Build skills to hold tight tolerances efficiently.
- Increase understanding of Tooling blueprints.
Requirements
- High school education or GED equivalent.
- Able to accurately read blueprints.
- Ability to climb on and off a forklift safely and without assistance.
- Ability to safely operate a forklift in high-traffic, low-clearance areas without posing a safety risk to others.
- Must not be at risk of sudden alterations in consciousness.
- Ability to push/pull loads of approximately 75 lbs at least 10 times per day/shift.
- Able to stand/walk for 7.5 hours of an 8-hour shift.
