Purpose and Impact: The Geospatial Enterprise Open Data Store (GEODS) contract provides integration, design, development, and sustainment for data services in support of the Federal Government. Developers on GEODS routinely design and implement new custom features that solve unique problems, optimize legacy capabilities, and deliver enterprise-level data services. In this role, you will directly shape the evolution of the GEODS Catalog ecosystem and drive integration of advanced AI/ML solutions to enhance discovery, classification, and accessibility of mission-critical data.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full software release lifecycle, from preparation and build to deployment and post-release monitoring.
  • Participate in code reviews and sprint planning meetings.
  • Attend daily stand-up meetings to discuss progress and roadblocks.
  • Write clean, well-documented code.
  • Write unit and integration tests to ensure code quality.
  • Contribute to technical documentation.
  • Implement new features based on specifications.
  • Analyze existing application processes and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with developers, testers, and operations teams to prepare and produce timely and reliable releases of software components.
  • Develop and execute test plans, support formal testing and resolution of defects.
  • Provide technical support and consultation for application and infrastructure defects and questions.
  • Safety - Enforce a safety culture where all employees continuously develop and maintain a safe work environment, including completing training, self-aid/buddy aid responsibilities, and participating in emergency response tasks.
  • Quality - Consistently provide services that meet customer expectations, adhering to Amentum Quality Policy and applicable Quality System documents.
  • Procedure Compliance - Read, understand, and implement operational, safety, quality, and environmental requirements of all plans, procedures, and policies pertaining to the job.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years’ experience, Associate’s degree plus 4 years’ experience, or a minimum of 6 years of experience in a related field.
  • Experience in Amazon Web Services (AWS) Platform and Technologies including SDKs and CDK or similar Cloud experience.
  • Familiarity with GitLab.
  • Ability to clearly communicate, verbally and in writing, complex technical concepts and challenges.
  • Experience designing scalable APIs and backend services.
  • 2 years' experience in either Java, Python, or JavaScript.
  • Active TS/SCI w/Poly security clearance.

Qualifications

  • Cloud certification(s), preferably from AWS, OCI, or Google Cloud.
  • Experience with microservices architecture and/or REST API.
  • Ability to identify opportunities to leverage AI to improve development processes or infrastructure.
  • Experience integrating AI into enterprise catalog systems.
  • Previous database experience, specifically Apache Solr.
  • Experience with Atlassian suite, specifically Jira and Confluence.
  • Previous NGA experience.
  • Experience in CI/CD Process.
  • At least 2 years of demonstrated experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) such as Terraform.

Pay

US:$100,000 - $160,000

Schedule

Monday – Friday / Core hours 9 AM – 3 PM
