Journeyman Pipefitter

About the role

Greiner Industries is seeking a skilled Journeyman Pipefitter with expertise in industrial systems and machinery to join our team. This role is critical in providing on-site support & maintenance for our industrial clients. The successful candidate will lead small teams of pipefitters and pipe welders through all phases of piping construction, from IFC/P&ID drawings to complete build, while communicating with and reporting to the onsite Foreman in charge.

Responsibilities

• Lay out, fabricate, and install pipe systems including flanges, valves, and fittings per engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Perform work safely in accordance with jobsite safety standards, including in elevated positions, tight spaces, and all-weather environments; maintain a clean and organized work area; comply with and follow company policies and procedures.
• Ensure proper alignment, fit, and tolerances during installation to meet specifications.
• Lay out, fabricate, assemble, install piping systems, pipe supports, piping instrumentation, valving and pumps for systems including but not limited to steam, condensate, hot/cold/potable water, natural gas, compressed air, food grade product and sanitizing agents.
• Select type and size of pipe and related materials and equipment, such as supports, hangers according to job specifications.
• Cut pipe using various methods including bandsaws, cutoff wheels, cutting torch and Fisher saw.
• Thread pipe using threading machine.
• Bend tube using tube bender.
• Assemble and install a variety of steel, stainless steel, copper and PVC/CPVC pipes and pipe fittings, using threaded, soldered, brazed, fused, glued, and welded methods of joining.
• Secure piping to structure with brackets, clamps, and hangers, using hand and power tools.
• Test piping systems for leaks by method of hydro/pneumatic pressure for indication of leaks.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Skilled Journeyman Pipefitter with expertise in industrial systems and machinery.
• Ability to lead small teams of pipefitters and pipe welders.
• Ability to travel and work overtime/weekends as needed.
• Ability to adapt to changes in daily activities.
• Must pass a background check and drug/alcohol screening.
• Must have a clean driving record.

Pay

$2,500 sign-on bonus. Pay range: Min USD $24.00/Hr – Max USD $35.00/Hr.

Schedule

Ability to travel and work overtime/weekends as needed.
