Responsibilities

• Plan, lay out, fabricate, and assemble developmental parts, assemblies, test equipment, missile assemblies, tools, gauges, molds, dies, and fixtures.
• Set up and operate a variety of manual machines, utilizing general machining practices and optimum tooling/set-ups with minimal direct supervision.
• Apply advanced mathematical and problem-solving skills.
• Use comprehensive knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Utilize Standard Inspection Equipment (SIE) to maintain integrity of conformance to part tolerances during fabrication.
• Perform off-line programming using Master Cam/conversational software to set up and fabricate complex precision developmental parts and potential pre-production parts.
• Produce parts from materials ranging from standard to exotic.

Requirements

• Six years of recent experience in a Tool & Die or Journeyman Machinist occupation OR an AAS in Machine Tool Technology or equivalent technical education.
• Ability to set up and operate conventional tool room machines (e.g., mills, lathes, grinders).
• Ability to work from blueprints.
• High School Diploma or Equivalency (GED).
• Must be able to work any designated shift, including overnight.
• Must pass a practical test within 30 days of hiring or promotion.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance and Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Access (ATF) clearance; U.S. citizenship is required.

Pay

Starting wage: $31.50 per hour.
