About the Role

Develops, constructs and alters a wide variety of fixtures, gauges and automated machines. Performs Tool Room operations involving extremely close tolerances. Plans construction procedures and methods to complete assignments as well as selecting proper materials.

Responsibilities

  • Computes dimensions, determines machining methods and material or parts required.
  • Continuously improve skill set.
  • Demonstrated use of good judgement, balancing cost, quality and timing.
  • Effectively uses design tools, E-drawings/Solidworks to complete machining and build tasks.
  • Fabricates components and assembles tools, machines and fixtures by analyzing blueprints, sketches and models.
  • Operates and programs CNC equipment.
  • Provides guidance and instruction to help develop team members in specific areas of expertise.
  • Solves problems related to unusual materials, work holding arrangements, machine settings, fabrication methods or production process.
  • Supports break downs, drop in jobs, and installations.
  • Works effectively under extremely tight deadlines.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent education required.
  • Must have a U.S. Department of Labor Journeyman's card and complete an apprenticeship program.
  • Demonstrated technical aptitude is required for this position.
  • Must be able to obtain appropriate licensing for any special equipment required for the position to include hilo/ personal cart.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Must have the flexibility to change work schedule to support break downs, drop-in jobs, and installations.
  • Understanding of continuous improvement lean processes in preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively use office automation, communication, software and tools used in the HMI operations environment.

Skills and Abilities
