Journeyman Low Voltage Technician

About the role

Installs and terminates copper and fiber‑optic cabling systems following design requirements.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret low‑voltage drawings, specifications, and schematics.
• Test and certify cabling to verify performance and compliance.
• Coordinate with other trades and DPR supervision to maintain project sequencing.
• Identify and resolve standard installation or wiring issues with minimal guidance.
• Maintain accurate records of materials, test results, and installed components.
• Adhere to all DPR safety procedures and quality expectations.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience (required).
• OSHA 10‑Hour Construction certification (preferred); OSHA 10 program completion within 6 months of hire is required.

Preferred Certifications

• Building Industry Consulting Service International (BICSI) Technician Certification.
• Computing Technology Industry Association Network+ Certification.
