Duties/Responsibilities
- Climbs poles and uses aerial buckets in confined areas among energized overhead lines and equipment at a considerable distance above ground.
- Works with energized underground 15-kv materials and methods.
- Works proficiently with hot line tools, (i.e. sticks) under energized conditions on both 15-kv overhead and underground systems.
- Works proficiently with hot line tools, (i.e. sticks) under energized conditions on both 15-kv overhead and 34-kv overhead systems, and 115-kv systems.
- Meets the public and establishes cooperative working relationships.
- Reads and interprets plans and written instructions.
- Works at heights greater than ten feet (example: in bucket or platform truck) to install equipment or connectors.
- Maintains and cleans company vehicles, equipment, and trailers.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Detail oriented and analytical.
- Ability to operate all tools and equipment of the trade.
- Practical and educational knowledge of electrical workers’ safety rules.
- Working knowledge of electrical, maintenance, and systems experience.
- Must be able to lift 60 lbs.
- Must be able to work outside, in industrial buildings, and in various weather conditions.
- Must be able to climb poles; works at heights.
- Ability to drive and operate heavy and light trucks and equipment.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- Current first aid/CPR certified
- Licensed Journeyman Lineman
- 5+ years of direct experience in the Energy, Oil & Gas industry.
- Requires valid commercial driver’s license Class A, with an acceptable driving record.
Special Requirements
- Ability to travel approximately 25% of the time required.
- Work variable hours based on customer and company needs.
