Journeyman Lineman - Midland/Odessa/Austin TX

Duties/Responsibilities

• Climbs poles and uses aerial buckets in confined areas among energized overhead lines and equipment at a considerable distance above ground.
• Works with energized underground 15-kv materials and methods.
• Works proficiently with hot line tools, (i.e. sticks) under energized conditions on both 15-kv overhead and underground systems.
• Works proficiently with hot line tools, (i.e. sticks) under energized conditions on both 15-kv overhead and 34-kv overhead systems, and 115-kv systems.
• Meets the public and establishes cooperative working relationships.
• Reads and interprets plans and written instructions.
• Works at heights greater than ten feet (example: in bucket or platform truck) to install equipment or connectors.
• Maintains and cleans company vehicles, equipment, and trailers.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities

• Detail oriented and analytical.
• Ability to operate all tools and equipment of the trade.
• Practical and educational knowledge of electrical workers’ safety rules.
• Working knowledge of electrical, maintenance, and systems experience.
• Must be able to lift 60 lbs.
• Must be able to work outside, in industrial buildings, and in various weather conditions.
• Must be able to climb poles; works at heights.
• Ability to drive and operate heavy and light trucks and equipment.

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Current first aid/CPR certified.
• Licensed Journeyman Lineman.
• 5+ years of direct experience in the Energy, Oil & Gas industry.
• Requires valid driver’s license and/or commercial driver’s license Class A, with an acceptable driving record.

Special Requirements

• Ability to travel approximately 25% of the time required.
• Work variable hours based on customer and company needs.
