Schedule

Monday - Friday, 12:00 AM - 8:30 AM (year-round)

Pay

Hourly wages up to $55.11 plus up to $9/hour shift differential. $10,000 sign-on bonus and relocation bonus of up to $15,000.

About the Role

LCEC provides reliable, cost-competitive electricity to more than 260,000 members throughout a five-county service territory in Southwest Florida. We employ approximately 485 skilled employees and are recognized locally and statewide as an industry leader.

This role performs construction and maintenance duties of overhead and underground facilities for electrical distribution and transmission.

Responsibilities

  • Construction and maintenance of transmission/distribution facilities in a cost-effective manner
  • Ensure facilities remain reliable and efficient
  • Assist in emergency repair and power restoration after outages
  • Respond reliably and timely to calls during regular work hours and off-hours
  • Account for all construction materials (issues, returns, salvage, etc.) properly
  • Perform duties safely and in accordance with LCEC accident prevention rules
  • Comply with applicable codes and standards
  • Must live within a 45-minute commute from the regular work site
  • Support storm restoration efforts when needed, including working in emergency storm situations (e.g., hurricanes) and long hours (>12 hours per day) for many continuous days/weeks
  • Maintain effective working relationships with employees and customers at all levels within LCEC
  • Provide current and accurate information to all requesters courteously and in a timely manner

Storm Duty Requirements: Responding to storms may be considered a condition of employment. Employees may be required to participate in response/recovery activities to maintain service to LCEC members.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required)
  • Proof of completion of a certified line worker apprentice program and/or four (4) years of experience working as a journeyman line worker (required)
  • Class A CDL License (required)
  • Must live within a 45-minute commute from the regular work site

Skills

  • Able to meet the physical demands of duties (required)
  • Familiarity with personal computer and email (preferred)
