We are looking for a highly skilled Electrical Journeyman who is safety-oriented and motivated to learn new tasks while continuing to grow with Georgia Pacific. This role supports the long-term quality and production goals of our containerboard mill in Toledo, OR.

About the Facility

Georgia-Pacific Containerboard in Toledo, OR, is a containerboard mill built in 1957 as the company’s first pulp and paper mill. The facility employs approximately 400 people and manufactures both linerboard and corrugated medium on three paper machines using virgin and recycled fiber. The mill is committed to sustainability for the benefit of the environment, society, and our business. Additionally, the Toledo Mill operates as an energy plant that converts energy into bulk electrical power, selling it to the City and distributing it to the Lincoln County area electrical grid.

Responsibilities

  • Problem solve, troubleshoot, install, repair, and maintain facility electrical distribution and manufacturing process equipment.
  • Monitor and provide feedback on equipment conditions and potential failure risks.
  • Troubleshoot AC/DC drives and make modifications to existing conduit and wiring.
  • Maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety equipment.
  • Work at heights and in confined spaces while meeting safety guidelines.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • An Oregon general (J) or Manufacturing Plant (PJ) license (or equivalent from Arkansas, Idaho, Maine, Montana, Utah, Washington, or Wyoming due to reciprocity).
  • 2+ years of electrical experience in an industrial or military environment.

Qualifications (Preferred)

  • Experience with PLCs (Programmable Logic Control) and ABB or Allen Bradley drives.
  • Experience with a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Experience with AC and DC motors, drives, and medium voltage switchgears.
  • Experience reading single-line schematics.

Schedule

  • 8 or 12-hour shifts, including holidays, weekends, overtime, and on-call hours as needed.

Pay

$45.11 per hour.
