Essential Duties & Functions
- Extensive customer service with both internal and external customers
- Processing incoming remote ads and toning images
- Troubleshooting ad problems
- Providing Quality Assurance Checks for all work performed
- Processing Magazine and Commercial Print Pages
- Meting Aggressive Deadlines in a Production environment
Essential Job Knowledge & Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- College design degree a plus
- 3-5 years in a Newspaper production environment required
- Knowledgeable with the following software: Cumulus, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, Mac, Windows 10 and SCS Track
- Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Able to troubleshoot ads on deadline and meet tight deadlines
- Skilled at manipulating scanned images
- Knowledge of wide format printing and cutting a plus
Physical Requirements
- Occasional standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting or moving materials weighing up to 45 pounds
- Sitting and working at a computer workstation for extended periods throughout the workday
- Visual ability to accurately review digital files, color tones, image quality, layouts, and print proofs, including close-up detail work on monitors and printed materials
- Ability to distinguish colors and detect subtle variations in tone, contrast, and image quality
- Ability to safely operate standard office and prepress production equipment, including computers, scanners, printers, and proofing devices
Compensation
The hourly range for this role is $25.64 - $34.21, commensurate with experience.
