About the Role

Performs routine preventive maintenance to ensure the safety, proper functionality, and aesthetics of facilities, equipment, or fixtures by following established preventive maintenance schedules and guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Inspects, cleans, and repairs facilities, equipment, or fixtures.
  • Observes and documents signs of wear and tear.
  • Gathers capital expense information and recommends repair needs to eliminate ongoing and future repairs.
  • Determines replacement needs and documents preventive maintenance activities.
  • Performs major and minor repairs on facilities, equipment, or fixtures using multiple craft skills (e.g., plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, food equipment).
  • Inspects, operates, or tests facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
  • Dismantles equipment, machines, or facilities to access and remove defective parts.
  • Diagnoses problems utilizing blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs.
  • Utilizes hand tools, power tools, hoists, and other equipment.
  • Provides prompt response to emergency calls and documents repair activities.
  • Manages work orders, maintenance schedules, and contractors by completing and providing required written and electronic information (e.g., expense vouchers, weekly summaries, work orders, maintenance logs).
  • Conducts price comparison of parts and travel-related costs.
  • Orders parts and replacement equipment, tracks orders, records purchases and usage, and submits warranty claims.
  • Complies with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations and guidelines.
  • Ensures quality work complies with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Ensures contractors follow Walmart quality standards and safety requirements and meet contract requirements; identifies and reports deficiencies.
  • Unloads and stores equipment; transports equipment between facilities.
  • Demonstrates, promotes, and supports compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity.
  • Uses the Open Door Policy and assists management with correcting ethical and compliance issues.
  • Follows safety procedures, responds to work orders, completes documentation, and coordinates with managers, coworkers, customers, and other business partners.
  • Maintains a safe work environment, observes and adheres to all safety policies and procedures, and reports all safety violations to management.
  • Ensures all assigned equipment, tools, safety items, vehicles, trailers, and other items are maintained in proper working order.
  • Performs other facility-related maintenance duties as assigned.
  • Participates in an on-call rotation, occurring approximately every 4–6 weeks, to support business-critical needs outside of standard business hours.
  • Maintains vehicles in working mechanical and cleanliness condition; coordinates and takes vehicles for required maintenance.
  • Safely operates motor vehicles and ensures vehicles have all required documents; checks fuel and water levels, brake condition, signals, and lights.
  • Submits maintenance invoices for payment and verifies the coverage and validity of vehicle insurance.
  • Wears company uniform and badge according to company policies and procedures.
  • Operates, inspects, and maneuvers heavy machinery and powered equipment (e.g., forklifts, material handling equipment, industrial machines, shop equipment, vehicles) in accordance with training, certification requirements, and safety procedures.
  • Performs pre-operation safety checks and post-operation inspections to ensure equipment is safe, functional, and compliant with applicable standards.
  • Leads and participates in teams by using and sharing resources, information, and tools; determining customer needs and business priorities; coordinating and executing work assignments; providing advice, feedback, and support.
  • Develops, communicates, and implements processes and practices to meet business needs by collaborating with managers, coworkers, customers, and other business partners.
  • Demonstrates, promotes, and supports compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity.

Requirements

  • 21 years of age.
  • 2 years of experience in the electrical trade.
  • Licensed Journeyman Electrician or equivalent in state of work.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Eligible for a Commercial Driver's License (CDL).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completion of a 2-year Vocational or Technical trade program.
  • Experience using intermediate-level functionality of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • License in related trade in city and/or state where job is located.

Pay

The hourly wage range for this position is $33.00 - $63.00. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
