Journeyman Electrician (Days - HBF) - Caldwell, ID

About the role

This role ensures efficient operation of all electrical and process control instrumentation within the high-bay freezer and warehouse area. Responsibilities include mechanical and general facility maintenance, lubrication, sanitation, troubleshooting, and repair of all equipment. The position requires a full understanding of mechanical equipment operation and sound judgment in decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize safety for employees, visitors, and contractors, ensuring safe equipment and facility conditions in accordance with SOPs and Company policies.
• Install, operate, and maintain central process control equipment and instrumentation, including programmable controllers, motor controllers, and wiring.
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment to prevent or minimize downtime.
• Perform skilled duties such as painting, carpentry, cement masonry, plumbing, and drywall to maintain and repair Simplot-owned facilities.
• Maintain and repair equipment including batteries, forklifts, chargers, pumps, motors, doors, dock levelers, hydraulic systems, and product transport systems.
• Disassemble and reassemble equipment such as motors, gearboxes, valves, hydraulic systems, couplers, alignment systems, and weighing systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment, machinery, and facilities following Company and manufacturer standards.
• Maintain shop inventories, tools, and equipment.
• Create, perform, and complete work orders in the system as assigned or needed.
• Identify, locate, and inventory parts needed for repairs.
• Document, monitor, and report shift events, log predictive maintenance data, and assist with work planning using information systems and productivity software.
• Maintain communication with team members and support groups in a participative management style.
• Assist with training other plant personnel.
• Coordinate or schedule work as required.
• Handle additional accountabilities as required by management to meet operations standards.
• Supply own tools of the trade.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Idaho Journeyman Electrician License (Reciprocal licenses accepted).
• Two years of industrial mechanical experience.
• Six months of forklift operating experience.
• Good knowledge of computer systems and technology, including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
• Ability to work around and consume products containing soy, wheat, and dairy.

Pay

$46.83 per hour.

Schedule

• Monday - Friday (Dayshift).
• Rotating on-call weekend with the maintenance team.
