Journeyman Electrician - Central MN
About the role
At Interstates, we're dedicated to powering industrial facilities with award-winning electrical, controls, automation, and OT work. Our diverse team includes logistics professionals, apprentice electricians, summer interns, and seasoned journeyman electricians who collaborate to deliver successful projects.
Responsibilities
- Making measurements, cutting, bending, threading, assembling, and installing conduit
- Overseeing or participating in wire installations with conduit & cable tray
- Connecting power to equipment
- Leading or developing up to 4 apprentice electricians
- Having knowledge of other construction trades
- Standing, walking, and lifting up to 100 lbs in construction work environments
- Climbing, maintaining balance on ladders and scaffolds while carrying tools
- Being exposed to high and precarious places, risk of electrical shock, and all outside weather conditions
- Wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Performing other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Experience using or desire to learn the latest BIM/VDC technologies for Interstates projects
- A state-issued journeyman electrician license (or equivalent)
- Industrial electrical experience required
- Knowledge of BIM/VDC Technology preferred

Work Schedule
Start times, break times, and work hours vary per site and stage of our projects. Employees work more than 40 hours per week but no more than 60, as part of our commitment to safety. Weekend work may be required on occasion.
Work Environment
The role is often exposed to high/precarious places, risk of electrical shock, and all outside weather conditions. This role is expected to climb and work at heights and in confined spaces. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. There may be tasks in an environment exposed to dust.
Compensation
$35 to $40 per hour (DOE)
