Journeyman Electrician

Core Responsibilities

  • Residential Service & Repair
    • Diagnose and repair residential electrical issues
    • Install and replace panels, breakers, outlets, switches, fixtures, and wiring
    • Perform service upgrades and minor system modifications
    • Troubleshoot circuits and resolve electrical failures efficiently
    • Ensure all work meets NEC and Maine state requirements
  • Remodeling & Project Work
    • Complete electrical rough-ins and finish work for kitchens, baths, additions, and whole-home remodels
    • Work closely with carpenters, plumbers, HVAC technicians, and project managers
    • Follow project plans and layouts accurately
    • Maintain clean and organized job sites
  • Safety & Code Compliance
    • Follow company safety policies and OSHA standards
    • Maintain awareness of Maine electrical code requirements
    • Assist Master Electrician with inspections and permit-related tasks as directed
    • Identify and communicate potential safety concerns immediately
  • Documentation & Accountability
    • Complete clear and accurate job notes in company software (Thermogrid or applicable system)
    • Track materials used and communicate shortages proactively
    • Meet billable hour expectations
    • Maintain company tools and vehicle (if assigned) in clean, professional condition
  • Customer Experience
    • Communicate clearly and respectfully with homeowners
    • Explain issues and solutions in understandable terms
    • Maintain a clean appearance and professional demeanor

    Qualifications

    • Active Maine Journeyman Electrician License (required)
    • Strong understanding of residential electrical systems
    • Experience in service work and remodeling preferred
    • Ability to read blueprints and wiring diagrams
    • Strong troubleshooting skills
    • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
