Responsibilities
- Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.
- Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
- Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
- Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
- Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
- Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
- Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes.
- Maintain current electrician's license to meet governmental regulations.
- Work well with supervision.
- Identify safety hazards you or other employees may be subject to and take all necessary corrective action to eliminate or minimize hazards.
- Perform all other job-related duties as requested by supervision.
Requirements
- Must hold current Washington State (EL01) General Journey Level electrical license.
- Minimum of two (2) years of electrical, industrial or refinery maintenance experience.
- Knowledge of industry hand and power tools.
- Complete the Matrix Service Safety training and Client/Site specific training.
- Must obtain and maintain active status within the drug testing program.
Qualifications & Experience
- Physical Requirements: Adhere to large amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting and lifting. Talk and hear to communicate. Use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, pull objects, materials, controls and tools. Lift, carry and move up to 50lbs. Work at heights, climb ladders and stairways and work from platforms. Work at heights up to 300' utilizing proper fall protection. Use vision abilities to focus, see short and long distances, colors, depth perception and peripheral vision. Work outside in the elements including but not limited to the heat, cold, rain, snow and wind. Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves and steel-toe boots.
Skills

Pay
The typical hiring range for this position in Washington is $47.00 - $60.00 per hour. The pay rate will depend on the successful candidate’s qualifications and prior experience, specific skill set, geographic location, internal equity, and other factors influencing pay.
