Journeyman Electrician

Your Contribution

As a Journeyman Electrician reporting to the Head of Facilities, you will be responsible to provide troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance to support facility and R&D equipment and systems.

• Set up electrical systems, including wiring, conduits, circuit breakers, transformers, and lighting fixtures.
• Identify electrical faults (troubleshooting) and repair or replace faulty components to ensure functionality and safety.
• Read blueprints, circuit diagrams, and technical specifications to plan layouts and determine material needs.
• Use tools like voltmeters, ammeters, and ohmmeters to test systems for safety and proper operation.
• Follow the National Electrical Code (NEC) and state/local building regulations to prevent fire hazards and ensure safety.
• Upgrade electrical panels and wiring to handle modern loads or energy-efficient systems.

Your Experience & Qualifications

• A High School Diploma or GED is required.
• An Associate Degree in Electrical Technology or Electronics is preferred.
• A New York State Licensed Journeyman Electrician is required.
• 3-5 years of professional experience are needed.
• Demonstrate knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local regulations.

Pay

The compensation range for this position is $75,000 - $85,000.
