Journeyman Electrician
Your Contribution
As a Journeyman Electrician reporting to the Head of Facilities, you will be responsible to provide troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance to support facility and R&D equipment and systems.
- Set up electrical systems, including wiring, conduits, circuit breakers, transformers, and lighting fixtures.
- Identify electrical faults (troubleshooting) and repair or replace faulty components to ensure functionality and safety.
- Read blueprints, circuit diagrams, and technical specifications to plan layouts and determine material needs.
- Use tools like voltmeters, ammeters, and ohmmeters to test systems for safety and proper operation.
- Follow the National Electrical Code (NEC) and state/local building regulations to prevent fire hazards and ensure safety.
- Upgrade electrical panels and wiring to handle modern loads or energy-efficient systems.
Your Experience & Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or GED required, an Associate Degree in Electrical Technology or Electronics preferred.
- New York State Licensed Journeyman Electrician required.
- 3-5 years of professional experience.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local regulations.
