Primary Job Responsibilities And Skills
- Understanding and ability to perform maintenance/installation of electrical components within commercial properties and wireless cell sites which involves cabinet sets, main distribution panels (200 amp to 4000 amps+) disconnects, meter pedestals/cans, transformers, emergency generators, manual transfer switches, automatic transfer switches, etc.
- Travel is required throughout Georgia and occasionally other Southeastern states.
- When traveling, the company provides hotel, vehicle and meals.
- Be able to manage job or possible multiple jobs from start to completion.
- Able to find and evaluate possible crew members.
- Work on and understand single phase and three phase. (120/240, 120/240 Delta, 120/208 Y, 277/480)
- Read and accurately interpret construction electrical drawings.
- Aid/perform civil work including grounding, trenching, and conduit installation, prior excavating equipment operating a plus.
- Operate test equipment such as voltmeters, meg tester, amp meters, and high potential test equipment.
- Understand and comply with company and government operating plans and procedures.
- National Electric Code (NEC), OSHA, DOT, etc.
- Organize materials and tools to maintain clean and neat work areas.
- Adhere to and promote the environmental, health & safety policies.
- Be able to manage & work alongside the people assigned to your team.
Minimum Qualifications Required
- Candidate must have a minimum 5+ years of electrical experience.
- Must have a clean driver's license and be insurable. CDL is not mandatory, but is preferred.
- Drug-Free Workplace: Must be able to pass a drug test upon hiring and any time during employment (random drug testing with a zero-tolerance policy).
- Strong work ethic required: initiative, tenacity & enjoys a challenge.
- Journeyman electricians license or the experience, knowledge, and ability to perform Journeyman electrician tasks.
- Knowledge of NEC, electricity, voltage and current relationships for both AC and DC circuits.
- Have working experience of all electrical systems: single phase, three phase, control circuits, and all aspects of electrical distribution.
- Must be able to lift 50+ lbs.
- Basic to average proficiency with Microsoft Office products to include Outlook, and Internet-based programs.
