Journeyman Electrician

Responsibilities

• Test electrical systems using tools like voltmeters, oscilloscopes, and ohmmeters.
• Determine where issues may be occurring, the safety of the system, and ensure compatibility.
• Repair electrical issues by replacing or installing components, wiring, or devices.
• Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to company guidelines and OSHA safety requirements.
• Report violations of policies, procedures, and guidelines to the immediate supervisor.
• Perform other duties as assigned or requested.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 2-year Trade School degree or completed state recognized apprenticeship program.
• A Minnesota State Journeyman Electricians license.
• At least 2 years of journeyman level electrical experience.
• Dependable, punctual, self-starter, and able to work closely with others.
• Ensures all work performed meets required safety codes and is properly inspected.
• Proficiency in using a variety of tools and equipment, including power construction equipment, measuring devices, electrical metering, power tools, and testing equipment.
• Ability to use ladders, scaffolding, platforms, and lifts to access and work on electrical systems.
• Perform inspections and maintenance on electrical systems to ensure safety and functionality.
• Understanding of NEC (National Electrical Code).
• Works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function.
• Proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job.
