Key Responsibilities
- Develop and update wiring diagrams, pinouts, and cable assemblies for processing cards, crypto devices, and SATCOM interfaces.
- Perform load analysis and ensure circuit protection meets MIL-STD-704/1275 power quality requirements.
- Assemble and troubleshoot hardware in lab environments, including continuity checks, power-on verification, and firmware updates.
- Use lab instruments such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and power analyzers, and document results.
- Support vibration, thermal, and EMI/EMC pre-qualification testing (MIL-STD-810/461).
- Maintain engineering documents such as ICDs, BOMs, and part number trees using tools like CAMEO/SysML and Windchill.
- Prepare test procedures, validation reports, and engineering change packages.
- Collaborate with Systems, Software, and Test teams to resolve integration issues.
- Coordinate with platform OEMs on connector standards, grounding schemes, and aircraft power bus impacts.
Required Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI clearance.
- High School Diploma + 15 years of related experience (5 in DoD), or BA/BS + 10 years of experience (3 in DoD).
- Experience with MIL-STD-704/1275 power and MIL-STD-461 EMI/EMC standards.
- Knowledge of aerospace wiring best practices (38999/26482, AS50881).
- Proficiency with schematic reading/modification and E-CAD tools (Altium, OrCAD, or similar).
- Skilled with lab instrumentation and fault isolation techniques.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with airborne networking, SATCOM, crypto, or cross-domain hardware.
- Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and digital-thread tools.
- Background in configuration audits, RMF hardware artifacts, or safety-of-flight packages.
- Wire harness certification (IPC/WHMA-620 or NASA-STD-8739).
