About the Role

We are seeking a Journeyman Computer User Support Specialist to support the United States Air Force, 53rd Wing at Nellis AFB, NV. This position will support activities within Special Access Programs (SAPs) for Department of Defense (DoD) agencies, including HQ Air Force, Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), and Military Compartments efforts. The role provides “day-to-day” support for Collateral, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), and Special Access Program (SAP) activities.

Responsibilities

  • Provides support to end users on a variety of technical issues.
  • Identifies, researches, and resolves technical problems.
  • Responds to telephone calls, email, and personnel requests for technical support.
  • Documents, tracks, and monitors problems to ensure timely resolution.
  • Performs software installation and support of commercial software and related upgrades.
  • Updates solutions database with applicable resolutions.
  • Problem solving, hardware/software installation, and configuration based on computing standards.
  • Client support for all network and desktop issues.
  • Monitors and enforces all IT policies and procedures.
  • Assists with setting up new users in IDAM and multiple level security LDAP profiles.
  • Installs and configures computers, monitors, network infrastructure, and peripherals such as printers, scanners, and related hardware.
  • Maintains, upgrades, and repairs PCs/laptops and Windows desktop applications for all systems.

Requirements

  • Active Top Secret Clearance with SCI Eligibility.
  • Must meet position and certification requirements outlined in DoD Directive 8570.01-M for Information Assurance Technician Level I or Information Assurance Manager I within 6 months of hire.
  • Minimum of three to five (3–5) years of experience in information technology or a related field.
  • BS degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Prior experience in roles such as System Administrator, Network Administrator, or Information Technology/Assurance Specialist.
  • Eligibility for access to Special Access Program Information.
  • Willingness to submit to a Counterintelligence polygraph.
  • U.S. Citizenship.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

Location: Nellis AFB, NV

Environment: Office setting with medium noise level.

Schedule: Day shift, Monday–Friday. May be requested to work evenings and weekends to meet program and contract needs.

Travel: Less than 10%.

Physical Demands:

  • Regularly required to use hands to grip, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Regularly required to lift up to 10 pounds, frequently lift up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Pay

Target salary range: $50,000.00 – $60,000.00. The salary range is an estimate and may vary based on education, experience, skills, competencies, contract parameters, and organizational requirements.
