Job Description

Sought after a dependable Automotive Technician to join our distinguished fleet maintenance team. The Automotive Technician will be accountable for maintaining a broad spectrum of equipment, encompassing delivery vehicles, heavy-duty on-road tractors, and trailers from various manufacturers. These vehicles' propulsion systems consist of diesel, gasoline, and alternative technologies like compressed natural gas, liquefied natural gas, propane, hybrid, and electrical in certain locations. Automotive Technicians must be proficient in diagnosing and maintaining various systems, including hydraulic brakes, air brakes, electrical systems, and engine controls.

Responsibilities And Duties

  • Maintains compliance with Department of Transportation (D.O.T.) requirements for the job assignment.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, crawling, climbing ladders and stairs, standing, walking, and turning/pivoting throughout the workday.
  • Sitting occasionally, as needed, throughout the workday.
  • Performs simple hand grasping, power hand grasping, fine hand manipulation, and reaching from foot level to above shoulder level as necessary to complete tasks.
  • Operates standard and manual transmissions.
  • Operates power and pneumatic tools.

Requirements

  • Active driver’s license issued by the state.
  • Willingness to work 2nd or 3rd shifts, including Monday through Friday, Sunday through Thursday as well as Tuesday through Saturday schedules, depending on the location's need.
  • Possession of required hand tools for the applicable job assignment.
  • Vermont State Inspection License - Preferred.

Knowledge And Skills

  • Current documented automotive mechanical experience.
  • Experience using diagnostic equipment, scan tools, and personal computers.
  • Possesses a full complement of personal hand tools.
  • Class A/B or A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) preferred.

Qualifications

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or National of the U.S., an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. for this employer.

Pay And Benefits

The starting pay for this position is $39.49 per hour. For union-represented postings, wage rates and ranges and benefit offerings are governed by applicable collective bargaining agreement provisions.
