Journeyman Automotive Mechanic
Job Description
Sought after a dependable Automotive Technician to join our esteemed fleet maintenance team. The Automotive Technician will be tasked with maintaining a broad spectrum of equipment, encompassing delivery vehicles, heavy-duty on-road tractors, and trailers from various manufacturers. These vehicles employ propulsion systems such as diesel and gasoline. Automotive Technicians must be proficient in diagnosing and repairing various systems, including hydraulic brakes, air brakes, electrical systems, and engine controls.
Responsibilities And Duties
- Maintains compliance with Department of Transportation (D.O.T.) requirements as per job assignment
- Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, crawling, climbing ladders and stairs, standing, walking, and turning/pivoting throughout the workday
- Sitting occasionally, as needed, throughout the workday
- Performs simple hand grasping, power hand grasping, fine hand manipulation, and reaching from foot level to above shoulder level as necessary to complete tasks
- Operates standard and manual transmissions
- Operates power and pneumatic tools
Requirements
- Active Class C Chauffeur driver’s license issued by the state
- Willingness to work 2nd or 3rd shifts, including Monday through Friday, Sunday through Thursday as well as Tuesday through Saturday schedules, depending on the location’s need
- Possession of required hand tools for the job assignment
Knowledge And Skills
- Current documented automotive mechanical experience
- Experience using diagnostic equipment, scan tools, and personal computers
- Possesses a full complement of personal hand tools
- Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) - Preferred

Pay
The starting pay for this position is $34.94 per hour. For union-represented postings, wage rates and ranges and benefit offerings are governed by applicable collective bargaining agreement provisions.
