Journey Tech III - Carpenter (2026-0749)
About the role
The Journey Tech III - Carpenter performs the full range of work involved in the installation, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, modification at Valley Medical Center and associated clinics.
This position is located at the VMC Main Campus, in the Plant Management department, and typically works Monday - Friday 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
The successful candidate will report to the Manager, Facilities Engineering, and will have a high school graduate or equivalent, preferred, as well as a Washington State driver's license and a proven good driving record.
Responsibilities
Following maintenance schedules, or work orders, performs maintenance services, and repairs as necessary.
Determines tools required and estimates necessary materials or parts needed, such as door parts, wall material, cabinet fixtures, etc.
Disassembles, repairs, replaces, services and adjusts as required.
The Carpenter will repair and maintain a variety of structures, furniture, and fixed assets around the medical center.
Requirements
- Able to work in a team setting and work effectively with other shop personnel.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form, including communicating with a diverse population and in a professional and diplomatic manner.
- Past history of regular and punctual attendance.
- Proven behavioral traits consistent with Valley Values.
- Basic computer skills and ability to utilize computers / technology as part of job.
- Able to set priorities, produce accurate work, and meet deadlines.
- Able to function in a setting with a wide variety of duties and multiple tasks.
- Functional knowledge of some of the principles and theories of rough and finish carpentry, reading blueprints, and the operation of hand power tools.
- Ability to follow instructions and specification in manuals, and to learn increasingly more complex operations and techniques.
Qualifications
- Two (2) years' experience in a Carpenter-related field.
- High School graduate or equivalent, preferred.
- Washington State driver's license and a proven good driving record.
Skills
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to utilize computers / technology as part of job.
- Functional knowledge of rough and finish carpentry, reading blueprints, and the operation of hand power tools.
Pay
Salary Range: Min $45.57- Max $50.34 /hrly DOE
Schedule
Full Time, Monday - Friday 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
