About the role

The Journey-Level Electrician position is responsible for maintaining electrical systems and components in safe operating condition, providing information on proper operation of electrical systems, and repairing electrical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes drawings to identify location of existing electrical systems and determine efficient installation of additional systems.
  • Installs electrical systems including communications, audio/visual, alarms, HVAC, (e.g. energy management/ boiler controls, signal system, commercial cooking equipment), etc.
  • Repairs electrical systems including communications, audio/visual, alarms (e.g. energy management/ boiler controls, signal system, commercial cooking equipment), etc.
  • Provides list of supplies, equipment and tools needed to ensure adequate materials are available to complete assignments in a timely manner.
  • Orients staff on proper operation of electrical systems.
  • Responds to emergency situations to resolve immediate safety concerns.
  • Transports various items to provide materials at the job site as required.
  • Coordinates schedules with other maintenance personnel to meet shift requests and prioritize work orders.
  • Performs necessary preventative maintenance on equipment.
  • Coordinates with state and local electrical inspectors for permits and inspections.

Requirements

  • Prior journeyman-level electrician experience.
  • Minimum 12 years of electrician experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • Journeyman electrician, or 12 years electrician experience.
  • Valid Driver's License and evidence of insurability.
  • Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance.
  • Valid CPR/First Aid cards.

Skills, Knowledge and/or Abilities

  • Operate hand and power tools used in craft.
  • Develop, read and interpret plans/blueprints.
  • Perform basic math to make calculations.
  • Knowledge of methods and use of materials, tools and equipment used in craft.
  • Appropriate building codes.
  • Hazard Communication and Safety Data Sheet requirements (MSDS).
  • Electrical systems components.

Pay

Pay Range: $40.59 - $42.72/hr (depending on verified industry journeyman experience)

Schedule

8.0 hrs/day, 7:00am - 3:30pm, 260 days/year
