About the role
The Journey-Level Electrician position is responsible for maintaining electrical systems and components in safe operating condition, providing information on proper operation of electrical systems, and repairing electrical systems.
Responsibilities
- Analyzes drawings to identify location of existing electrical systems and determine efficient installation of additional systems.
- Installs electrical systems including communications, audio/visual, alarms, HVAC, (e.g. energy management/ boiler controls, signal system, commercial cooking equipment), etc.
- Repairs electrical systems including communications, audio/visual, alarms (e.g. energy management/ boiler controls, signal system, commercial cooking equipment), etc.
- Provides list of supplies, equipment and tools needed to ensure adequate materials are available to complete assignments in a timely manner.
- Orients staff on proper operation of electrical systems.
- Responds to emergency situations to resolve immediate safety concerns.
- Transports various items to provide materials at the job site as required.
- Coordinates schedules with other maintenance personnel to meet shift requests and prioritize work orders.
- Performs necessary preventative maintenance on equipment.
- Coordinates with state and local electrical inspectors for permits and inspections.
Requirements
- Prior journeyman-level electrician experience.
- Minimum 12 years of electrician experience preferred.
Qualifications
- Journeyman electrician, or 12 years electrician experience.
- Valid Driver's License and evidence of insurability.
- Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance.
- Valid CPR/First Aid cards.
Skills, Knowledge and/or Abilities
- Operate hand and power tools used in craft.
- Develop, read and interpret plans/blueprints.
- Perform basic math to make calculations.
- Knowledge of methods and use of materials, tools and equipment used in craft.
- Appropriate building codes.
- Hazard Communication and Safety Data Sheet requirements (MSDS).
- Electrical systems components.

Pay
Pay Range: $40.59 - $42.72/hr (depending on verified industry journeyman experience)
Schedule
8.0 hrs/day, 7:00am - 3:30pm, 260 days/year
