Journalism Editor Internship (POC Society Platform)

Responsibilities

• Acts as ranking site manager under the direction of the Publisher.
• Aids in selecting and supervising the site contributors.
• Aids in disseminating assignments that align with the site's target demographic.
• Collaborates with contributors to develop AP Style articles from original ideas to completed articles.
• Reviews, and approves content.
• Cross-checks all citations and examines all references.
• Affirms adherence to deadlines and production requirements.
• Aids in creating and disseminating all staff-related information.

Qualifications

• Superior verbal and written communication skills, with expert-level proficiency in AP Style writing format.
• Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and make effective decisions.
• Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of diverse international social and political landscapes.
• Proven capacity to analyze and interpret international social and political events from multiple perspectives.
• Exceptional time management skills with a track record of meeting stringent deadlines.
• Expert knowledge of communication and mass media principles and practices.
• Proficiency in learning and adapting to new online content media platforms.
• Previous editorial or content management experience, or demonstrated success in managing a relevant site independently.
• Capability to effectively manage and lead a team of seven reporters.

• Duration: 12-month commitment.
• Position Type: Virtual, part-time, unpaid internship.
