Joint Strategic Planner

As a Joint Strategic Planner, you’ll bring your national security subject matter expertise to help articulate strategic risk to senior leaders in the Department of War and to Congress. You’ll use your skills as you collaborate with senior military officers to lead Operational Planning Teams across the Joint Staff, Service Staffs, and Combatant Commands, conduct research and analysis, and prepare read ahead materials for General/Flag officers.
Responsibilities
- Lead Operational Planning Teams across the Joint Staff, Service Staffs, and Combatant Commands
- Conduct research and analysis to support strategic planning
- Prepare read-ahead materials for General/Flag officers
- Articulate strategic risk to senior leaders in the Department of War and to Congress
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in strategy or planning within the Department of War
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment with minimal supervision
- TS/SCI clearance
- Bachelor’s degree
Nice If You Have
- Experience supporting the Joint Staff, Service Staff, Combatant Staff, members of Congress, or at a think-tank
- Experience conducting risk analysis
- Knowledge of the Department of War strategy and risk documents and processes
- Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
- Master’s degree in National Security Affairs, Security Studies, or comparable field
Clearance
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.
