About the role

As a Defense Mission Expert on our U.S. Space Force (USSF) team, you’ll bring your expertise to work alongside thought leaders in science, software development and deployment, and Joint military operations on projects for multiple domains, multiple services, and multiple Combatant Commands. You’ll use your skills and expertise to directly engage warfighters on their needs and ensure incorporation into updated software development pipelines.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force warfighters.
  • Provide foundational knowledge on the operational environment and adversary capabilities.
  • Conduct Joint Force problem analysis.
  • Advisory on USSF service-provided solutions.
  • Demonstrate a proactive approach to work, anticipating needs and addressing challenges proactively.
  • Contribute innovative ideas to drive team success.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience with the military at the operational or tactical-level.
  • Experience at a service component headquarters.
  • Ability to brief a variety of defense audiences, including senior military, civilian, and contractors.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
  • TS/SCI clearance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Graduate of a Service Command and Staff School such as USN College of Naval Command and Staff, USAF Air Command and Staff College, or United States Army or Marine Corps School.

Skills

  • Experience in Joint or Service-level planning.
  • Experience in surface warfare or military aviation.
  • Experience with the Atlassian Suite, including Confluence and Jira.
  • Experience at a Joint or Coalition headquarters and operations center.
  • Experience in the acquisition and development lifecycle.
  • Master’s degree.
  • Graduate of a Service-level Advanced Tactics or Instructor School such as USAF Weapons School, USN Top Gun, or MAWTS.

Pay

The projected compensation range for this position is $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD).

Schedule

Employees working virtually are generally expected to have their cameras on during meetings. Remote, Hybrid, and Onsite work models are available depending on the role and customer requirements.
