About the role
Mental health challenges often begin in late adolescence and early adulthood (ages 18-29). We recognize the huge potential of young adults pursuing mental health recovery. Our members and families have shared how unsettling and isolating that time can be. At the Academy, we make a concerted effort to engage young adults early in the recovery process.
Responsibilities
- Welcome new young adult members during their initial tour, orientation, and first days of participation.
- Utilize and further develop the interests and skill sets of our young adults through social and vocational opportunities.
- Work with Academy members on technology projects, including using Apple Macs, Windows PCs, photo and video equipment, and live streaming events.
- Support Academy members in achieving their educational goals by developing relationships with high schools, institutes, and colleges.
- Encourage speaking out by having Academy members participate in public forums to build mental health awareness and share their experiences.
Skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of young adults.
- Proficiency in technology, including Apple Macs, Windows PCs, and video/photo equipment.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Ability to speak publicly and share personal stories.

Pay
Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience.
