Join Us! Group Mentoring in Antelope Valley

Program Overview

The Be A Mentor Program pairs caring adult volunteers with youth in one‑to‑one relationships. Mentors serve as friends, role models, advocates, and resources, helping young people develop their full potential both in and outside the classroom. This volunteer opportunity focuses on group mentoring for youth ages 10‑17 in the Antelope Valley.

Responsibilities

• Provide a supportive, safe, and encouraging environment for youth.
• Answer questions and offer guidance on personal and academic challenges.
• Serve as a role model, advocate, and resource for each participant.
• Facilitate engaging group activities such as arts and crafts, board games, music lessons, group discussions, and educational support.
• Organize and accompany field trips and community outings (e.g., bowling, batting cages, fun‑park days).
• Help youth stay engaged in meaningful activities and address any challenges they may face.

Schedule

When: Every Wednesday

Time: 4:30 PM – 6:30 PM

Location: Lancaster Community Center
