Join S²Cities as a Youth Innovation and Capacity Building Grantee
The RFP
The Global Infrastructure Basel Foundation (GIB), on behalf of the Safe and Sound Cities Programme (S²Cities), is seeking new local partners to implement a hands-on programme on youth participation in urban planning for urban safety and wellbeing in Cuenca and Ambato in Ecuador and Baguio and Naga (Camarines Sur) in the Philippines.
Program Overview
The S²Cities programme aims to create safer urban environments with and for young people. It engages young people in understanding safety issues affecting their quality of life, provides capacity-building opportunities, promotes dialogue and inclusive decision-making, and encourages young people to co-create innovative solutions with other urban stakeholders.
Eligibility Criteria
- An organization committed to improving the lives of young people
- Experience working with young people to ensure their voices are heard in public agendas and decision-making
- A belief that creating safer urban environments enables young people to fully access growth and development opportunities
- A commitment to encouraging inter-personal connections, providing platforms of dialogue and co-creation, and nurturing a healthy and resilient social fabric
- An organization dedicated to working with, organizing, and representing young people in decision-making processes of public life
- An interest in catalyzing young people's potential to improve urban safety
- A well-established local connection and presence in one of the target cities (Cuenca and Ambato in Ecuador, Baguio and Naga (Camarines Sur) in the Philippines)
