The Safe and Sound Cities Programme is seeking a Global Research Partner to contribute to a hands-on programme on youth participation in urban planning for urban safety and wellbeing in secondary cities of the Global South.

Responsibilities
Researchers of Urban Studies are invited to submit Expressions of Interest to support the development, implementation, and learning of the Safe and Sound Cities Programme (S²Cities) and its global team. The programme seeks a partner that helps shape a research agenda suitable, relevant, and supportive of its scalability potential.
Requirements
Proposals should address one or preferably a combination of the stated themes:
- Youth participation in urban planning and decision-making
- Holistic urban agendas of safety, security and wellbeing for young people
- Sustainable and inclusive built environments through placemaking
Qualifications
Preference will be given to researchers who have experience studying youth engagement and power plays in urban policy and planning, and those who have studied the social dynamics between the built environment and urban safety.
Skills
Strong research skills, ability to work collaboratively, and a commitment to promoting safer cities for young people to thrive in are essential.
