About the role

A Culinary Steward plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our kitchen and dish areas, ensuring our culinary team can operate efficiently and provide exceptional service to our guests.

Responsibilities

• Bus speed racks and all dishes and cooking utensils into the dish machine, returning them to their proper places in the kitchen.
• Maintain a clean and organized dish machine and dish room, ensuring all equipment is functional.
• Deliver glasses, plateware, and other items to various departments as instructed by your supervisor.
• Set up, regularly clean, and operate the dish machine efficiently.
• Ensure the cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen, including floors, counters, and equipment.
• Assist with inventory management by reporting low stock levels of supplies.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during service.

Physical Demands

• Most work tasks are performed indoors in moderate, controlled temperatures; however, must be able to work in extreme temperatures like freezers (-10°F) and kitchens (+110°F), possibly for one hour or more.
• Must be able to exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours.
• Requires positioning oneself to complete necessary tasks, including grasping, reaching, and performing repetitive motions; manual dexterity to operate equipment.
• Must be able to lift items weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular and continuing basis.
• Must be able to push carts weighing up to 150 pounds on a regular and continuing basis.
