About the role

Responsibilities

• Serve food and beverages using established Hotel standards.
• Set up for events including place settings, décor, buffet lines, table linens, tables, and chairs.
• Complete all IHG and Hotel training.
• Monitor guest behavior and alcohol consumption to determine when alcohol service should cease; check identification of guests appearing to be under 40 years of age.
• Notify management of incidents involving excessive alcohol consumption or impaired condition of guests.
• Clean and maintain workspace including back hall, carts, storage closets, event space.
• Engage with guests and colleagues using D.A.R.E. to Connect behaviors.
• Follow hotel safety protocols and procedures at all times. Report any safety/service incidents to the Restaurant Manager or the Person In Charge (PIC).
• Perform additional duties as necessary and assigned.

Requirements

• A high school or equivalent education is preferred.
• Minimum of six months of prior food service experience is preferred.
• Must be at the minimum age to serve alcohol in line with any local legislative requirements.
• Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.
• All associates are required to attend all scheduled training sessions and meetings.
• Upon employment, all associates are required to fully comply with Crowne Plaza Lansing rules and regulations for the safe and effective operations of the Hotel’s facilities.
• Violations of Hotel rules and regulations may result in disciplinary action, up to and including separation.
