About the role
UPMC Hamot, located in Erie, Pennsylvania, has a new opportunity for a Gastroenterologist to join a well-established and growing practice. Bayfront Digestive Disease, established in 1984, is part of UPMC Hamot’s Center for Digestive Health. The practice focuses on the management of digestive disorders in adults and pediatrics (12 years and older) and includes five physicians, thirteen advanced practice providers, and a support staff of 35. The center unites the region’s largest and most comprehensive team of digestive health physicians and surgeons, providing diagnosis, treatment, and surgery for digestive diseases.

Call coverage
Physicians rotate call every week – 1 week out of every 5 or 6. Call is a 7-day stretch from Monday 8:00 AM to Monday 8:00 AM with coverage 2 nights during that call week.
Responsibilities
Candidate can expect approximately 80% inpatient/procedures and approximately 20% office.
Requirements
- MD/DO from an accredited medical school
- American Board Eligible, American Board Certified or Canadian Board Certified in Gastroenterology
- Broad gastroenterology skill set with willingness to learn new techniques, participate in new procedures and evolve as a gastroenterologist
- ERCP not required but preferred
- Mentorship provided
- Ability to obtain an unrestricted Pennsylvania Medical License and necessary credentials
- DEA certification
- Commitment to patient-centered care and excellent interpersonal skills
