Responsibilities

  • Facilitating and coordinating programs that may include hospital inpatients, outpatients, families, community, and employees of both the hospital and the university.
  • Providing evidence-based care based on the nursing process, policies, procedures, and protocols of the Johns Hopkins Hospital.
  • Directly or indirectly, you'll have exposure to cutting-edge technology and groundbreaking medical research.
  • Working collaboratively with, and providing leadership for, a multidisciplinary health care team to support program initiatives that support quality, safety, and excellence in care.
  • Participating in promoting and identifying quality improvement initiatives (clinical, financial, operational) that supports, protects and promotes area of specialty.
  • Initiating and participating in the research activities relevant to specialty area.
  • Implementing initiatives in area of specialty as directed by nursing and medical leadership.
  • Fostering a clinical environment of service excellence.

Requirements

  • RN License
  • 2 years nursing experience
  • BLS
  • IMC experience; dysrhythmia managementRN
  • Experience with high acuity patients
  • 2 or more previous travel assignments
  • Multiple levels of care- Adult inpatient
  • Levels of care vary from High Acuity IMC (managing low-dose pressors, mechanical ventilation via trach, unstable rhythms requiring TVP or epicardial pacing, continuous cardiac monitoring), IMC (dose-ordered vasoactive, continuous cardiac monitoring), Vent experience, tracheostomies, Aline, some Titrating gtts (Nitroglycerin, Insulin and Heparin)
  • Experience/understanding of provider managed pressors and inotropes
  • 1:3 ratio for IMC around the clock
