About the role
The Mobile Service Technician independently performs advanced diagnostics, service repairs, and maintenance on customer and dealer-owned agricultural equipment. This role is primarily focused on in-field service, traveling to customer locations across the True North Equipment territory, while also supporting shop work as needed.
Responsibilities
- Perform advanced diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on agricultural equipment and precision ag technology systems
- Travel throughout the True North Equipment territory to support customers across multiple locations
- Serve as a trusted technical advisor and represent TNE professionally in front of customers
- Respond to service calls in a timely and efficient manner to support customer uptime
- Complete accurate work orders, documentation, and time tracking
- Maintain tools, service vehicle, and equipment in clean and working condition
- Follow all safety policies and OSHA regulations
- Maintain current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products
- Participate in Service EDUCATE and ongoing training programs
- Support customer clinics, training events, and internal initiatives as needed
- Work efficiently to meet productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction expectations
- Take directions from the Location Service Manager to prioritize work assignments, scheduling, and customer needs
Requirements
- 3–5+ years of experience in diesel or agricultural equipment repair
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
- Experience with John Deere Service Advisor (preferred)
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; technical degree preferred
- Valid driver’s license with clean MVRAbility to obtain and retain a DOT medical card
- Able to lift up to 75 lbs and perform physical work

Pay
- $29–$49+/hour depending on years of John Deere experience
Schedule
- Off-season: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- In-season: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM & Rotational Saturdays: 7:30 AM – 12:00 PM
- On-call rotation and extended hours during peak seasons
