About the role

The Texas Lottery is seeking a visionary leader to serve as the Media Relations Division Director. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in media relations, public relations, and communications, with a proven track record of developing and implementing successful media strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive media relations strategies to enhance the Texas Lottery’s brand and reputation.
  • Manage media inquiries and coordinate media coverage for lottery initiatives and events.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure consistent messaging and alignment across all communication channels.
  • Oversee the development and distribution of press releases, news articles, and other communications materials.
  • Represent the Texas Lottery at industry conferences and events to build relationships with key media contacts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in media relations, public relations, or communications.
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including strong writing and presentation abilities.
  • Experience working with media outlets and understanding of media trends and best practices.

Qualifications

  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of social media platforms and their impact on public relations.
  • Experience with crisis management and media training.

Pay

  • $85,000 - $100,000 annually based on experience.
