Responsibilities

• Design and execute papercut portraits with meticulous diagonal cuts to reveal dark underlying layers.
• Utilize negative space to enhance depth and conceptual meaning in each artwork.
• Experiment with techniques to create subtle visual vibration and layered identity in compositions.
• Refine cutting methods to achieve clean, intentional lines and structural integrity.
• Collaborate with curators or clients to align artistic vision with project goals.
• Prepare and present work for exhibitions, publications, or commissioned projects.

Requirements

• Proficiency in papercutting techniques, particularly with precision tools (e.g., X-Acto knives, scalpels).
• Strong understanding of composition, negative space, and layering in visual art.
• Ability to work with delicate materials and maintain attention to detail over extended periods.
• Portfolio demonstrating experience in papercut art or related subtractive techniques.
• Knowledge of archival practices for paper-based artwork (optional but preferred).
