About the role

The Department of Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations at the University of Pennsylvania invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor appointment in Ancient Rabbinics (1st through 7th centuries). We seek exceptional teacher-scholars with expertise in the textual traditions of Talmud and midrash, mastery of the Hebrew language, and the ability to bring their subject matter into conversation with contemporaneous cultures of the Mediterranean and Near Eastern world.
