Job Title: HVAC Mechanic

Duties And Responsibilities

• Respond to any operational emergencies on campus during assigned shifts
• Perform additional Facility Services (FS) work to support the following functions: mechanical, carpentry, electrical, roofing, grounds, and building services as required
• Inform management of any additions or deletions that must be made to campus blueprints
• Cookordinate maintenance activities with members of the campus community
• Assist management in the scheduling of outside contractors that may be required to complete projects on campus
• Assist management of FS in preparing and monitoring operating indices for the division
• Encourage FS staff to follow all safety procedures and programs
• Cookordinate and document the performance of preventative maintenance activities, in his/her respective field
• Participation in the FS safety council desired

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED
• Journeyman certification preferred
• Three years of work experience as an instrument technician, HVAC Mechanic or other related fields
• Commercial experience preferred

• Ability to perform tasks using the Internet and data base query tools
• Valid motor vehicle operator’s license
• Understanding of basic heating, ventilation and air conditioning principles and control systems
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to organize, prioritize and perform under pressure
• Ability to troubleshoot or diagnose a problem and determine the best course of action
• Ability to demonstrate teamwork and cooperation to resolve service issues
• Knowledgeable of Safety Rules and Regulations
• Ability to work from heights
• Knowledgeable of Microsoft Word and Excel in a Windows environment
• Ability to lift and carry 25 to 50 lbs. frequently, and up to 60 lbs. occasionally
