Hvac Mechanic

Job Summary

Performs preventive maintenance and repairs as assigned by supervisor
Gives reports to Supervisor about the condition of equipment
Responsible for the operation and repairs of pumps, fans, motors, and components of HVAC equipment
Assists in installation of new equipment as directed
Responds to calls and work orders pertaining to HVAC
Installation of window units, PM of patient convectors, ice machines and portable music
And whatever work or duties assigned by Supervisor

Essential Functions

• Familiar with major HVAC controls and components
• Maintains a safe and efficient HVAC operation
• Willing to answer emergency calls after hours
• Familiar with EPA and HVAC Codes and regulations

Minimum Education/Certifications

• High School or trade school graduate or equivalent
• NJ State Boiler License and HVAC Certificate

Minimum Work Experience

• At least two years of Boiler & HVAC experience

Working Conditions

• Exposure to heat, cold, draft, hot water and steam lines
• Must be able to climb ladder
• Must be able to lift heavy objects
• Physical and mental stress
